JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2020 Meeting

"Reducing Cost Risk in Remedial Action Budgets using Supplemental Cost Estimating Analyses"

The January/February 2020 meeting (held in February) will be an in-person and Webinar meeting and will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at CDM Smith's office at 9200 Ward Parkway in Kansas City, Missouri. The title of the presentation is “Reducing Cost Risk in Remedial Action Budgets using Supplemental Cost Estimating Analyses”.

This will be a high-level presentation that was given by Gary Hazen of CDM Smith (and President of the AACE Kansas City Section) at the 2018 Design and Construction Issues at Hazardous Waste Sites (DCHWS) 3rd Western Symposium held in November 2018 in Denver, Colorado. DCHWS West is sponsored by the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Denver Post with support from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and many industry and consultant sponsors.  The presentation will include a question/answer period.

There will be a follow-up to this presentation to be held on March 11, 2020 on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency CLU-IN seminar series. That presentation will be a more in-depth discussion of the topics raised in the presentation CDM Smith previously gave at DCHWS West (the presentation to be given on Feb. 26th); if interested more information on the upcoming March CLU-IN seminar will be provided on February 26th.

This meeting will be open to non-members as well as members and will have in-person as well as Webinar options (although Webinar options will only be available to current Section members). There will be no cost for the meeting and lunch will also be provided for the in-person attendees at this meeting.  A RSVP will be required by Monday, February 24th to attend by completing a Doodle poll.

If you are an AACE Kansas City Section member but DID NOT receive an e-mail for this meeting on February 12th or a non-member and would like to attend this meeting, please contact a board member listed on the "Leadership" tab of this website. We welcome non-members to attend in-person so we can meet you and discuss our AACE section with you.
